STARRING

3! received the Best Production Award at the undergroundzero Festival in 2009.

3! is a multimedia collision inspired by Fassbinder’s caustic political satire The Third Generation. The piece plunges into a world where radical politics, surveillance culture, television noise, and absurdity intersect—an environment of carnival, paranoia, cops, terrorists, screens, philosophy, and chaos.
The staging operated as a deliberately unstable hybrid: criss-crossing cameras roamed through the space, capturing live footage that fed into a network of televisions and projections. A DJ mixed sound in real time, underscoring a relentless ensemble of fourteen performers who inhabited a world teetering between slapstick and catastrophe. The visual field splintered, multiplied, and reassembled itself moment by moment, exposing the fractures between mediated reality and the bodies moving through it.
3! interrogated violence, freedom, and civil rights by staging a disturbing landscape of sexual mayhem, chemical distortions, and political manipulation. Hybrid forms—cinema, theatre, installation, performance art—collided and short-circuited each other, dramatizing the exhilaration and burden of not fitting into the system that seeks to define, categorize, and control.
The work unfolded as a frenetic, uncompromising live experiment echoing Fassbinder’s critique of ideological confusion and manufactured fear—an art-machine running at full voltage.
